Mountain Huts

The hut is located in the Ranchovo Gradishte area. The hut can be reached by a 3 km asphalt road from Ralitsa neighborhood of Pernik.

Aleko Hut is the oldest hut in Vitosha and the second oldest hut in Bulgaria, after Skakavitsa Hut. It was built in 1924 by the Aleko Konstantinov Tourist Association, nkwadays a branch of the Bulgarian Tourist Board. Today, the hut is part of the "100 National Tourist Sites". It serves as the main starting point for the ascent of the top peak Cherni Vrah (the hike takes about an hour and a half) and is part of the international tourist route E-4. In winter, the area becomes the heart of Vitosha's skiing, with ski lifts, slopes of varying difficulty and a professional ski wardrobe.

Kitchen opening hours: 7:00-10:00 (breakfast), 12:00-18:00 (lunch) and 19:00-21:30 (dinner). The canteen closes at 22:30. There is excellent coverage of the A1 cellular network in the area of the hut.

Located among a coniferous forest in the Machovoto area, not far from Ostritsa peak.

The canteen and tea room are open every day from 08:00 to 19:00. Hot soups, ala minute, grill, hot drinks (tea, coffee), pastries and beer are offered. The vestibule is open 24 hours a day all year round for emergency shelter in bad weather. At the shelter, you can get a stamp for Cherni Vrah, which is part of the '100 Tourist Sites of Bulgaria' initiative. The building is shared between the shelter, the NIMH meteorological station and a Mountain Rescue Service post.

The hut is located in the Svrachar area, not far from Kopitoto, the Dendrarium and the Golden Bridges.

Kumata hut is located in the southern part of the Boeritsa area. It is a classic stop on the route from Zlatnite Mostove to Cherni Vrah. It is named after one of the first Bulgarian climbers - [Krum Novakov - Kumata](https://bg.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%9A%D1%80%D1%83%D0%BC_%D0%9D%D0%BE%D0%B2%D0%B0%D0%BA%D0%BE%D0%B2_%E2%80%93_%D0%9A%D1%83%D0%BC%D0%B0%D1%82%D0%B0), who was among the initiators of its construction.

Bai Krastyo is a serviced shelter and a locality of the same name, located on the northern slope of Vitosha. The place is named after the iconic mountain lover Krastyo Grozev, who turned this place into a tourist attraction in the middle of the last century. The shelter is not a place to stay overnight, but rather a place for a short rest and a meal.

Located in the "Zavrachitsa" area in eastern Rila, on the left bank of the Prava Maritsa River. The hut is a point on the European tourist route E-8. The heating in the hut is by wood stoves. The toilets are outside, attached to the hut building. Zavratchitsa hut was conceived as a strategic connecting link between the huts around the peaks of Musala and Belmeken, as well as an excellent starting point for ski tourism on the nearby slopes. The first building is a small high-mountain shelter with a built-up area of ​​only 60 sq. m. Due to the great interest and development of tourism, in the period 1963 - 1965 the old one-story stone building was expanded and included in a modern two-story building, which forms the current appearance of the hut. A very well-maintained chalet, located in a coniferous forest in the Milikini Nivi area, not far from the village of Kostenets. There is a meadow with gazebos next to the chalet.

Kikish is classified as a shelter, but it offers conditions comparable to those in a good hut. It is managed by Vasil Lazarov, who renovates and maintains it with the help of friends and volunteers. In ten years, they managed to turn the deserted and crumbling building into a place beloved by thousands of mountaineers. In front of the hut there is a small artificial lake and meadows with sedges.

Located in a coniferous forest in the Boeritsa area, the hut impresses with its architecture, executed in Alpine style. Just five minutes away from it is a stone run, from which several mountains of Kraishte, the westernmost part of Bulgaria, are visible. Their stepped silhouettes are especially beautiful at sunset. The yard in front of the hut features a wooden stage with amphitheatrically arranged benches around it. The name of the hut - "Planinarska pesen" literally translates as "mountaineering song".
