Mountain Huts

Makеdonia Hut is located in Mech Prohod Saddle (between Golyam Mech Vrah and Malak Mech Vrah) in Southwestern Rila and is one of the highest-altitude chalets on the Balkan Peninsula. The European long-distance hiking path E4 passes through it.

The hut is located in the Svrachar area, not far from Kopitoto, Dendrariuma Area and Zlatnite Mostove.

Kumata hut is located in the southern part of the Boeritsa area. It is a classic stop on the route from Zlatnite Mostove to Cherni Vrah. It is named after one of the first Bulgarian climbers - Krum Novakov - Kumata, who was among the initiators of its construction.

Bai Krastyo is a serviced shelter, located on the northern slope of Vitosha. It is named after the iconic mountain lover Krastyo Grozev, who turned this place into a tourist attraction in the middle of the last century.

Kikish is classified as a shelter, but it offers conditions comparable to those in a good hut. It is managed by Vasil Lazarov, who renovates and maintains it with the help of friends and volunteers. In ten years, they managed to turn the deserted and crumbling building into a place beloved by thousands of mountaineers. In front of the hut there is a small artificial lake and meadows with sunbeds.

There is no coverage at the hut, so communication with the hut wardens is only possible via Viber via text messages.

The hut's dining room functions as a shelter where you can sleep if needed, but there is no hut keeper.

Ivan Vazov Hut is located at the foot of Otovitsa Peak, facing the peaks of Golyam and Malak Kalin at the upper end of the Golyamo Pazardere cirque. It is among the highest-elevation mountain huts in the Balkans. The hut features an impressively rich library.

"Skakavitsa" is the first mountain hut in Bulgaria, built between 1921 and 1922. It is located not far from Skakavitsa Waterfall, among coniferous forest at the foot of the eastern slope of Mount Kabul. It consists of two buildings. There is almost no A1 and Vivacom coverage at the hut, but there is internet from Starlink.

Sedemte Ezera Hut (Seven Lakes Hut) hut is located on the shore of Ribnoto Ezero (The Fish Lake), the second to last of the Seven Rila Lakes group.

Zdravets Hut is located in the Rhodope Mountains, near the town of Kuklen and not far from Plovdiv. It features rooms with private bathrooms, a restaurant with a terrace, ski slopes, and a ski lift.
